Für Elise — Still 1

Elise (15) longs for a happy family life. But her mother Betty (38) is weak and self-centered.

Since her fathers death, Elise (15) lives alone with her mother Betty (38).
Working as a nurse on the intensive care unit, Betty saves the lifes of others, her own live, though, is falling to pieces. Her search for a new man repeatedly ends in frustration, that she tries to overcome with alcohol, parties and one-night-stands. Betty loses the control over her life and the connection to her daughter.
Elise tries to hide the circumstances, she and her mother live in. She keeps the apartment clean, controls the financial situation. When Elise wants to flee reality, she plays the piano and loses herself in music.
When eventually Betty meets Ludwig (36), she believes to have found the ideal partner. He, too, is a single parent. Ludwig notices how touching Betty cares for his children, while she neglects her own daughter. At first, Elise is suspicious of Ludwig, only slowly she opens up to him. Searching for nearness and warmth, that her mother can’t give her, she gets closer to Ludwig.
Unlike he, Betty is deeply in love with Ludwig. At the same time, the relation between Elise and him grows more and more close. Suddenly, mother and daughter become rivals in the fight for Ludwigs attention.
